Fun Filled Activities
Valldemossa
Ca Na Luso is situated just outside the picturesque village of Valldemossa and is definitely worth a visit!
Valldemossa is set on the slopes of the Tramuntana mountains on Mallorca’s West coast, just 17 kilometers from Palma. It is the highest village on the island, being surrounded on all sides by the most extraordinarily beautiful scenery.
Valldemossa, with its cobbled streets, consists largely of stone houses, from grand fincas to rustic townhouses. Each home proudly presents an array of flower arrangements along its façade. These village houses have remained in the style they have always been and provide fine examples of traditional Mallorquin architecture.
The village center is filled with small boutique shops, cafés and restaurants and attract many visitors who love to stroll by soaking up everything this historical village has to offer.
Snorkeling
In the many secluded bays of the Tramuntana mountains it is wonderful to go snorkeling in the crystalline water.
We have Subea Easy Breath snorkeling masks available in the house. Feel free to use them and experience this stunning gorgeous underwater world all by yourself!
You will be surprised by the many colorful fish you will see, and when lucky even the endangered stingray.
Places to go to are Cala Deià, Port de Valldemossa, Port des Canonge, Cala Tuent and Cala Sant Vicenc just to name a few.
Boat Trip
The best way to experience the spectacular coast and cliffs of the Tramuntana mountains is by boat. There are many charter companies you can use, mainly from Port de Sóller.
Our personal favorite is Bonny Lass Charters, who offer bespoke day charter and beautiful sunset trips aboard two classic yachts; a Scottish fishing boat from 1949 and a beautiful sailing yacht. It is a fun experience, with a BBQ on board, peddle boards and snorkeling gear. The rope swing was definitely a favorite for our kids.

Hiking & Cycling
There are many beautiful hikes within the Tramuntana mountains, ranging from elaborate day tours to easier one-hour routes.
One of our personal favourites is a 10-minute walk down our road to the Puig de sa Moneda, an Arabian style tower on top of a little hill. You can hardly call it a walk but it so worth it.
The views over the sea and valley are breathtaking and intense. We like it early in the morning, when we walk up with our cup of coffee. Or you can watch the beautiful sunset, with a nice glass of Mallorca wine.
For those who love cycling, the Tramuntana area is a regular destination for practicing this sport and it is very common to see groups of cyclotourists pedaling around Valldemossa.
For bike rentals we can recommend Equip Deià, they also offer simple guided tours or more extensive multi-day tours.

At the house we offer a range of maps for hiking and cycling so you can pick a route that suits your level and ambition.
Great Food Experiences
Es Taller
A splendidly open and airy space, Es Taller is reasonably priced and the food – simple, fresh and Mediterranean – is absolute delicious!
Located just outside the center of Valldemossa, Chef Nico has converted what was a former garage into this fantastic restaurant. Staff are very welcoming and the menu offers a lovely twist on traditional Spanish dishes.
For sure you will not be disappointed!

El Roquissar
Visit this restaurant for an intimate and informal dining experience. It is set in the corner of a quiet square by the Chopin Museum – nicely set back from the busier tourist restaurants.
The restaurant offers delicious food, a relaxed atmosphere, welcoming staff, an open kitchen and a beautiful tree growing up through the middle of the restaurant.
El Roquissar is quite small with limited seating so it is worth to make a reservation

S'Estret
We love this intimate charming tapas bar with its friendly service!
It is a very small restaurant/bar a bit hidden away but the homemade tapas are absolutely delicious, offering a modern twist on some classics.
Great food at very reasonable prices!

Sa Foradada
Sa Foradada is perched above a private cove, meaning you have absolutely stunning ocean views from the large terrace. It’s a restaurant passed down through generations famous for its paella. The challenge to get to it is all part of the charm!
To start, park the car at the top near the Son Marroig house, and look for the wooden signpost ‘Bar Sa Foradada Rte’. Clamber over the stile at the gate and head down the mountain track. Along this route you’ll pass ancient olive trees and enjoy increasingly gorgeous ocean views. Some donkeys might pass your path too!
Sa Foradada with its authentic paella is an unforgettable experience. And you don’t need to worry about the calories: you’ll work off some of those walking back up!
We highly recommend making a reservation before you start your walk

Alternatively, you can reach the restaurant by boat.
Best Beaches
Cala Deià
Cala Deià is a small, scenic, and sand-less beach found just down from the picturesque mountain village Deià.
The beach is only about 70-meters long and has mostly small pebbles and large rocks. People perch themselves along the surrounding cliffs and rocks and come to enjoy the clear green-blue water, the majestic surroundings of mountains and stone houses. It is great for snorkelling!
Despite its modest size the rocky cove is home to 2 great restaurants serving fresh seafood where you can sit and enjoy the spectacular surroundings.
Port de Sóller
Port de Sóller is a picturesque, small coastal village which has become well known and popular particularly due to its historic tram, large bay with protected harbor and scenic surroundings. As an old fishing harbor, it is also a great place to eat fish and seafood.
Port de Sóller offers the only large sandy beach on the West coast of Mallorca.
The main beach, and most child friendly one, is a genuine town beach, centrally located near the charming harbor. It has great facilities such as sun lounges, sunshades and showers.
Es Trenc
Es Trenc is one of the best-known beaches on the island because of its Caribbean blue waters and bright white sand that extends over 2 kilometers along the south of the island.
Located between the popular beach resort towns of Colonia San Jordi and Sa Rapida, Es Trenc is a beach for nature lovers, who will appreciate the sense of remoteness and wild beauty.
The water is truly spectacular: shallow, calm with occasional waves from the wind and it has a turquoise clear blue color. It is not close but definitely worth the one-hour drive!
